Review Policy

October 6, 2022

This should outline my policies on book reviews fairly clearly, but if you have more questions, don’t hesitate to email me.

As much as I wish I could review every interesting book that came my way, I cannot. Time factors greatly into my decision to review a book. Money does not. I write reviews because I know how valuable feedback from a consumer’s perspective can be, and I want my reviews to give insight for potential readers.

To contact me to request a review, send an email to reviews@words-reviews.com and I will respond as soon as possible. Due to the volume of requests I receive, I cannot guarantee a response. I will confirm any review requests that I accept via email with instructions about how to send me the book. Do not attach any book files to your request as they will NOT be opened.

I receive many requests for reviews, and therefore cannot accept them all. For those they I do accept, the turn-around fluctuates based on my current reading load, and can be discussed individually. Upon completion, reviews will be posted on this blog, Amazon.com, GoodReads, and LibraryThing, among other sites.

I accept reviews for many genres, but am most interested in the following (in no particular order):

  • biography/autobiography
  • history
  • music/culture
  • mystery/suspense
  • historical fiction
  • urban fiction
  • young adult
  • contemporary romance
  • dystopian fiction
  • multicultural interest
  • teen fiction

I am not interested in travel/travel guides, religion, reference, poetry, or self-help/motivational books.

Please know that even though your book may fall under a genre I am interested in reviewing, that does not mean I will automatically accept it. For genres outside of those listed, please contact me directly to discuss on a case-by-case basis.

Disclosure: Some books I review are provided to me for free by authors or their agents (publishers and publicists, mainly).  In such cases, my reviews will remain objective and I will disclose the source of such books.

Thanks,

Lena
